Scriptures completed with Bible? (email to another)

>Jane. God says the Scriptures are completed. Sorry you have trouble with this.

Actually I don’t have trouble with it. I know about one Bible scripture that others have told me they believe means that there should be no more scripture after it. – It is Rev. 22:18 and it’s near the last verse in the Book of Revelation, which is the book placed at the end in the Bible, so I understand why they would think so. Here is that scripture with the verses before and after it for context;---
Rev. 22: 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, aCome. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the bwater of life freely.
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall aadd unto these things, God shall add unto him the bplagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the abook of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I acome quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Did you know that the Bible is made up of different “books”? Bible=Biblia or Library or books. We have the BOOK of Genesis through the BOOK of REV. Each ONE is called a BOOK. --- The books were not put together as we now have it in the Bible, until hundreds of years after the last books in it were written.

Even then, they had to sort through MANY books to decide what was true and what was false etc. That is why we find other books referred to as scripture in the Bible, that are not in the Bible, (by the way, thanks for getting me the reference that Jesus quoted about ye are gods- and I am writing another page response to that).

Also, did you know that Bible scholars agree that the Book of Rev (though placed at the end,) was NOT the last book written. Evidence indicates that 1 John and Jude were written up to 20 years later than the book of Rev. Many also believe that St John was written after the Book of Rev.—Maybe you could ask Harvey about this if you doubt what info I have??

I understand that John, the revelator, was speaking of HIS book “scroll” of Revelation, that people were not to add nor take away from- there was not a Bible yet!! If we were to accept that the position of where the words “not add unto the word” come in the Bible, for not allowing ANY scripture after that, then would can we do about Deut. 4:1 where it says this below?

Deut. 4:1 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the astatutes and unto the bjudgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.
2 Ye shall not aadd unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
3 Your eyes have seen what the LORD did abecause of bBaal-peor: for all the men that followed Baal-peor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.

Anyway, for me, I expect God to continue with his pattern (template to use your words) of speaking to prophets, as he has shown all through the Bible. We still need it, and also there is Agabus, who was not one of the 12 also called a prophet, with his prophecy supplied in the Bible, and fulfilled too. So the very Bible shows a “template” that there were to be more prophets, and their prophecies were to be written and accepted as scripture. Otherwise, we would have MEN, that you say are NOT prophets, (who gathered together the books into the Bible) making it so we can’t have more of the word of God?

Shouldn’t we try to work with the FLOW of the WHOLE Bible, and not isolate scripture or make it mean more than it says. Yes, there is often more than one way to understand, and that is why the FLOW is important. If the Bible said something like “I, God will not call any more prophets, or give any more scripture, this is the end- I’m not speaking to you any more” then that would be the end. Instead he says that there will be FALSE prophets in the last days, so does that not indicate that there must be at least ONE true one coming?
